Bald Cypress
Bald Cypress, or “BC,” is one of the very best species for bonsai, and is sometimes called the King of American Bonsai. No bonsai collection is complete without at least one Bald Cypress.
We collected this one in January of 2021. It has a beautiful and powerful trunk, with a nice fluted and flaring buttress. Great trunk character. The base of the tree is 5.5" across measured 5.5" from the soil surface, and the original trunk chop was at 31". I expect it will finish out at about 40-42". The best style for this one is the classic pyramidal BC.
